Use some teflon tape when threading the following together Test it out, see what happens. With the bleeder hole in this position the same end result is achieved as with the coupling, but it reduces the number of parts required to fabricate and install the MBC.
I never noticed any tremendous lag when I had the wastegate feed disconnected and was running 14psi, boost felt like it kicked in hard around rpm. I might just try this for science, it'd be a new option for people who don't want to do an entirely new turbo setup but can't get an adjustable wastegate anymore which is why I'm doing a TCD turbo setup.
You should have your boost source either on the compressor cover, on the j-pipe, or on the IC piping near the turbo. A ball and spring MBC is supposed to achieve the same thing except mechanically.

I see a couple of people on mye28 have done it. You'll just be installing a manual one. I will tell you that The BOV should be on it's own dedicated line from the intake manifold.

You can actually just unplug the 2 hoses off the stock controller and put them on a bleeder style on and have it work. Gently follow with placing the spring down on top of the bearing. Cut the top part off the coupling using a hacksaw as shown. As a side note, a second ball bearing can be added between the spring and the Bolt.
While cruising if you start to get on the gas just a bit the car responds just like it does when it is bone stock. Then the ground wire goes from the boost selinoid to the hobb switch and from the hobb switch to the ground i used the frame beam under front head light.
